This is a remake of an artwork I did when I was about 17 (see the old version here [link] How embarrassing! FINALLY FIXED THE LINK HERE!)
I still loved the idea though (and you know I painted the original before Ever After came out with it's fish and bird quote!) so I decided to make a newer better version.
So here it is, watercolour painted at A2 size.

*I've fixed the link to the old one I think. Not sure why it wasn't working before, the address was valid, must be some weird HTACCESS issue.

I have known this image for many years because of the internet and I didn't know who made it until now. I think the concept is so touchy!

Why is this called "Impossible love"? Many different species of birds can swim (which means the angel can exist in the water) and clouds are made up of water (which means the mermaid could be srounded by them and not dry out), therefore this love is POSSIBLE. It may not be easy, but it is by no means impossible.
