This is watercolour, and I tell you it took a LOOOT of watercolour to get it that dark!

whenever i try to layer watercolour to get it to do something like that, my page curls. any suggstions??

Well, something you should do (which I don't and my pages curl too!) is get a hard wooden board, then soak your watercolour paper in water so it's expanded and lay it out flat on the board then tape down the edges (you can get special tape for this). That way it wont buckle. Otherwise I use Archers 300gsm cotton watercolour paper which stays pretty flat anyway even when you put heaps of paint and water on! Hope that helps!

i know the tape you're talking about, guiding tape, always used this green kind...but i haven't got any left...
i'll have to go buy some more!
