An acrylic on paper... I'd been wanting to paint this idea for a while, a mermaid who has dressed herself in a pirate flag, because in my imagination, mermaids only wear things that they find, rather than actually making anything themselves. But when I finally got around to painting it I rushed it a bit. I still kinda like it, but it's not how I imagined the artwork to be.

Life is too important to be taken seriously.
Love how her tail frames her head and the sunlight....:)
LOOOOOOVING the tail frame. I also like her expression; that kinda, "Oh yeah, you know it" look.

You're curious, I can see it.

*aelthwyn ~Marcusstratus =FrockTarts Awesome stuff, go look.
Dear god, I want this as a tattoo! Well, having said that, I'm not likely to get a tattoo, out of personal choice, but if I were to, I'd be looking at something like this. I adore the way you've made her tail shimmer!

I would much prefer being hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not. I will never be the girl you wanted me to be.
